Installing NVRAM in Bally Lost World

Here’s some pictures of a Tangles NVRAM being installed in Lost World.

This is as simple and upgrade as can be had on many Bally and Stern machines:  Remove the 5101 memory chip, and plug in the Tangles NVRAM module.  For this machine, the batters had already been removed and an external battery pack was installed with a Molex plug. This makes removing the battery very simple indeed.

The above photo shows the Bally CPU board with the 5101 memory removed from its socket and the TPP-1010 NVRAM module installed.

In the above photo, we are inspecting the right-hand pins to see no pins have missed the socket.  This is nicely aligned.

After removing the external battery pack, we powered up and set to an evening of Pinball play.  No more battery problems for this machine!
