Installation Instructions

  • Power the pinball machine off.
  • Unplug the mains chord from the wall socket.
  • Remove the 5101 memory from its socket.
  • Install the TPP-1010 module into the socket.
  • Remove the battery from the MPU-100 if it is still present.
  • Power the machine up.
  • Note: high scores stored previously will be lost.

 

5101 Removed

The above photo shows the MPU-100 CPU board with the old battery removed and the 5101 memory chip removed from it’s socket.

The battery was removed from my board as a part of a cleanup as the old battery had begun to cause some corrosion.

Provided there is no damage to the board, the old battery can be removed with side cutters.

 

The above photo shows the 5101 NVRAM module installed into the 5101 socket.  Please take care to install without missing some of the pins.  Inspecting the right side of the module you can see the right hand pins are in the socket and none have missed.
